The section over the Rhinog Mountains is too much for the majority of walkers to undertake in one day. Barmouth to is 24 miles with 8785 ft of ascent and progress is slow in many places. The following are a few options for accommodation:

Camping: The Nantcol Falls Campsite is 4.4 miles to the west of the route at Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy and there is a basic Camp Site at Cwm Bychan, directly on the route.

Taxi Assisted Option 1: The option suggested by Tony Drake was to stay for two nights at Barmouth. On the first day take a taxi to Maes-y-garnedd (SH642269) /// reverted.finds.reckons 1.5 miles from the route at Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy, then walk the route in reverse back to Barmouth. On the second day take a taxi to the same place and continue the route from there.

One local taxi firm is A to B Taxis -  CALL 07860 739073 who charged £25 per trip in 2016.

Taxi Assisted Option 2: There are a few places where roads come within reasonable distance of the route where taxis could pick up. The problem with making these arrangements is that the timing may be uncertain. Mobile phone reception is very limited, but there may be places, particularly on mountain tops, where it may be possible to phone. There is a phone box in Cwm Nantcol at SH623263 /// earful.froze.courts   2.75 miles from the route, but remote phone boxes are under threat and may well be out of order or removed. This phone box is currently working (July 2017) but takes Phone Cards or Credit/Debit Cards only and has a sign dated 2016 proposing closure subject to public consultation. Arranging a time in advance is more reliable, but there may be problems of either not arriving on time or arriving early and having to wait.

Possible pickup points are Maes-y-garnedd (1.5 miles from route at SH642269 /// reverted.finds.reckons) and Cwm Bychan (On Route at SH646315/// vanish.snippets.airliners) from the West, and near Graigddu-isaf from the East (2 miles from the Route at SH684302/// cringe.spend.fists).

On Foot - Option 1: From Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy head west past Maes-y-garnedd and along the road towards Llanbedr. Gwynfryn Farm is 5.1 miles from the route with a further 0.6 miles for an evening meal at Victoria Inn (which also has accommodation). There are a number of footpaths to avoid some of the road walking. Returning to the route it is possible to take a more direct and gentler route to Rhinog Fawr over Mynydd Llanbedr and Foel Ddu (access land beyond the right of way). It is 5.2 miles from Llanbedr to Rhinog Fawr summit.

On Foot - Option 2: From the top of the Pass of Bwlch Drws-Ardudwy SH664282 /// undertook.they.rewriting continue eastward to Grugle and Graigddu-isaf to join a minor road by the car park at SH684302/// cringe.spend.fists. This road leads to the A470, which is 4.3 miles from the route. From there, you can turn right to Cae Gwyn Farm for B&B (also Camping and Camping Barn), or turn left to reach The Rhiw Goch Bunkhouse (group bookings only) after turning right up the hill through the holiday village. The Rhiw Goch Inn burned down in October 2018 and is still derelict (August 2021) but the Cross Foxes Inn in Trawsfynydd is up and running again after being put up for sale. It advertises a restaurant and cafe as well as accommodation including bunk rooms. Cae Gwyn also have self-catering facilities in their Camping Barn. The O.S. map shows several footpaths with right of way in this area, but this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest so grazing has been severely restricted or completely stopped over most of the land in order to revert it back to its natural state, which is long reeds and bog. Hence, many footpaths are badly overgrown and / or boggy. It is, therefore, safer to stick to the roads unless there there is good indication that a path is well trodden. There is some Mobile Phone reception in places on the way.
